volunteer for scouts
get involved: IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS

If you would like to join the North Tawton team and enjoy the fun, friendship and adventure of Scouting, we would really welcome your support. You can work directly with young people or in a behind the scenes role as a team or individual. Prior experience or a connection with Scouting is not necessary and we welcome people from different backgrounds. Remember, you can decide how much or little time you give to Scouting.

We currently urgently need volunteers to fill the following roles:

Executive Committee Member:  The Executive Committee plays a vital role in supporting the leaders within the Scout Group.  This is a non-uniformed role that does not have direct responsibility for our young people.  The Executive Committee currently meets once per school term and takes on the behind the scenes tasks.  Recent projects have included designing new group hoodies, arranging a coffee morning and equipment sourcing for the group.  If you can spare an hour per month, please talk to us - we need your help.

Gardening/Odd Jobs:  As a group we are fortunate to be based in such a great location.  Our commitment to maintenance and property upkeep is minimal, but does take the time of the leaders who want to make scouting the best it can be for all our young people.  We need a few individuals to look after and maintain our fire circle area (currently not used due to no one looking after it), our storage area and some odd jobs.  Time requirements to fit in with those willing to help.

Section Assistant Leaders:  Probably the most challenging, yet by far the most rewarding, our Section Leaders and Assistant Leaders are the life blood of the group.  These are uniformed positions within the Scout Group and have direct contact with our young people.  It does not matter which section you prefer, we need your help in moving the group forward and making the scouting journey for every young person the best it can possibly be.  Please talk to any of the leaders for more information - if you want to have fun, learn a few new skills and have a few hours available each month - you will make a difference.

Volunteer today and make a positive impact in your community.
